George A. Taylor

George A. Taylor, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2016, after a short illness. 

Born in Akron, George lived in the Suffield area most of his life. He was a Master Carpenter and worked most recently for Bernard Busson Builder. George was a member of Suffield United Church of Christ, the Past President for Suffield Lions Club and a Boy Scout Leader with Troop #267. He was a life member of Suffield Historical Society, participated in the Field Athletic Boosters, was a member of the Carpenters Union, a member of the National Rifle Association and was active in the Madison Walker Toy Run. George was an avid hunter, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and his ’57 Chevy. 

Preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Madison Walker; George is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Colleen; sons, Doug (Brenda) of Akron, Ron (Paula) of Green and Brian (Mindy) of Uniontown; daughter, Perri Taylor of Hartville; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Gerald (Penny) Taylor of Tallmadge and Don (Kim) Taylor of Uniontown; sister, Char (Ken) Herstich of North Canton; brother-in-law, Don (Susie) Beeman of Waterville, Ohio; and very special hunting buddy and friend, Harold Harrington of Bryan, Ohio. 

Funeral service will be Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Suffield United Church of Christ, 1115 State Route 43, Suffield, Ohio 44260, with Pastor Gary R. Friend officiating. Friends and family will be received one hour prior to the service Wednesday, from 12 to 1 p.m., at the church. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ravenna.
