George F. "Bus" Limbaugh

May 21, 1921 — April 9, 2012

George F. "Bus" Limbaugh passed on to his heavenly home on April 9, 2012 following several years of declining health.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on May 21, 1921, he spent his adult life living in Springfield Twp. He was a veteran of World War II and made a career as an aviation mechanic for TRW, retiring in 1986 after 35 years. He was well respected by his co-workers and other professionals he met through his membership in the Professional Aircraft Mechanics Association, and as an officer in the Northeast Ohio Aircraft Mechanics Association.

Bus was formerly a member of Lakemore United Methodist Church, serving for many years as an usher, trustee, and also a Boy Scout Leader. He and Elinor enjoyed summers spent as chaperone/cooks for the MYF group camping trips. Many camping vacations with family and friends brought wonderful memories. Most recently Bus attended services at Cornerstone Mennonite Church and considered the people there to be his extended family. Thanks to all from Cornerstone for the prayers, cards, and words of encouragement. The most important times of his life revolved around family. Bus enjoyed attending any event involving his beloved grandchildren. many hours were spent at choir and band concerts, and sporting events. Attending the weddings of his grandchildren brought great pride and precious memories. Visiting with his great-grandchildren always brought a smile to his face. Smiling came easy for him, and for many years he spread his joyfulness with waitresses at his favorite restaurants.

Bus was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings. His wife, Elinor went to her heavenly home in 1987, and his second wife, Eva Mexen Limbaugh, went to Heaven in 2002. Left to mourn his passing, but REJOICING in the knowledge that he is now at peace in Heaven are his daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Bob Calcei. He is survived by his loving grandchildren, Ryan and Missy, Joshua and Tara, Amanda and Jacob, and Nicholas and Sarah; precious great-grandchildren, Natalia, Gabriel, Ella and Emilia. He is also survived by Eva's children, Karen (Ken) Sword, James (Charlene) Maxen, Susan (Stan) Grizzle; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by loving cousins, Carol Cochran and Leonore Church; special niece, Joyce Troupe; and dear neighbors, Joe and Peggy Williams. Lastly, he is survived by his "recently-adopted honorary" grandson, STNA Austin.

George's family wishes to thank Dr. Martha Klipec and Dr. Milan Dopirak for the excellent medical care he received for many years. Thanks to Mercy Hospice for helping the last few months to make his passing peaceful. Thanks also to the loving, caring staff of Chapel Hill Community-Memory Support Unit for providing him a safe, loving place to live for the last two years; you have all become part of Dad's family. May God Bless you all as you continue to care for the residents of MSU and know how much you brighten many days for all of us.
