Geneva L. Dishman

Heaven gained a perfect angel when Geneva Dishman, 94 of Akron Ohio went home to be with the Lord March 4^th.

Geneva was born December 27, 1928 to Minnie and Vernie Dial in Livingston Tennessee. Following her husband, she moved to Akron with an infant, a toddler, and a suitcase in 1952 and has called Sawyerwood her home ever since.

Geneva’s priority in life was always the safety, security, and happiness of her family starting as a child raising her siblings Mary, Eudean, and James. As a teenager, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bill” Dishman. Her love of taking care of her family only grew deeper over time as she became a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.  Along with caring for her family, she loved being outside “smearing paint” on something and building wishing wells and yard ornaments with her husband Bill. She also loved sitting in her favorite chair reading her Bible, working through her wordsearch and coloring books, or putting jigsaw puzzles together.

Geneva was predeceased by her parents, Minnie and Vernie; her sisters, Mary and Eudean; her son, Jerry; and grandson Clifton.  She leaves behind her loving husband, Robert; her brother, James, her children, Terry (Karen) Dishman, Judy (Clifton) Cutlip, and Rita (Donald) Mitter; her grandchildren: Michelle, Eric, Carrie, Robbie, Holly, Nathan (Jessie), Jered (Jamie), Adam (Jessica), and Megan; her 13 great-grandchildren and her 7 great-great grandkids.

Family and friends are welcome to attend calling hours Wednesday, March 8^th, 5-7p and Thursday March 9^th , 11a-12p at Hopkins Lawver, 547 Canton Rd. Akron OH 44312. Funeral service will be held Thursday March 9^th at 12p with interment to follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
