Garry A. Blakely

Garry A. Blakely, age 67, passed away on February 1, 2016 surrounded by his family. Born in Akron, he lived in the Akron area all of his life. Garry was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam during the war. He was a member of The Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, Akron VFW Post 8975 and Mogadore Moose No. 1082. Garry enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandkids. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, he is survived by his loving wife, Lynn; daughters, Stacy (Darryl) Saxby, Michelle (Shawn) Morgan and Kerri Blakely; and grandchildren, Samantha and Lily. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be Friday, February 5, 11 a.m., at The Wintergreen Ledges Church of God, 1889 Vernon Odom Blvd., Akron, OH 44320 with Pastor Jim Roma officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the church. Memorials in honor of Garry may be made to the church.
