Frederick A. “Fred” Miller, age 89, joined his wife in Heaven on February 6, 2014.
Born in Cuyahoga Falls, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and retired from B.F. Goodrich after 38 years of service. Fred was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, and was a charter member of St. Joseph Catholic War Veterans. He enjoyed fishing, oil and water color painting, playing Euchre, traveling, and bowling, and was a pie connoisseur.
Preceded in death by his wife, Catherine; grandson, Nathan Miller; sisters and brothers, Frances, Ann, Joe, Ed and Frank. He is survived by son, Fred (Amy) Miller; daughters, Kathy (Jerry) White and Barb (Ed) Cory; grandchildren, Courtney (Jason) Worley, J.R. (Chelsey) White, Edward (Mindy) Cory, Steven Cory, Alyssa Miller and Ethan Miller; and great-grandchildren, Annabelle Worley, Mason Cory and Collin Cory.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Road, Mogadore, Ohio 44260, with Father Thomas Acker, S.J. presiding. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, where Mogadore VFW Post 8487 will conduct military rites. The family will receive friends at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue (Route 532), MOGADORE, Ohio 44260, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church.
