Frank Spano, 63 years old, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on July 29th.
He was born in San Vito, Italy to the late Rinaldo and Maria Spano. When he was a teenager, he moved to Akron, Ohio with his family. Frank co-founded Spano Brothers Construction in 1986 where he retired in 2011. In 1998, Frank built his dream, The Spano Dome, an indoor softball complex to help youth softball players in northeast Ohio to have a year-round dirt practice facility. His dream has grown to attract youth players throughout the nation. Frank enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He spent the winters at his Florida home with his wife.
Preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Joe and Isabel Daguanno; Frank is survived by his wife of 41 years, Francine; daughters, Nicole (Tyler) Miller of Powell, Kristina (Jim) Ambrosio of Columbus and Angela Spano of Akron; grandchildren, Gavin, Dominick and Alivia Miller. He is also survived by his brothers, Pasquale, Ralph (Anne) and Vito (Ann); sister, Rosanna (Bruce) Boveington; along with many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tony and Margaret Lovell.

Friends and family will be received Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Nativity of the Lord Jesus Catholic Church, 2425 Myersville Road, Akron, Ohio 44312, Thursday, 10 a.m., with Father Zachary M. Kawalec presiding. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart/Stroke Association, PO Box 15120, Chicago, Illinois, 60693.
