RANDOLPH – Frank C. Corl, age 92, passed away December 3, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Mogadore, Ohio to Frank and Hazel Corl, he lived in Randolph all of his life. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He retired from General Tire after more than 30 years of service. Frank enjoyed fishing and gardening and was very active in his community. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be deeply missed.
Preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gary Nicholas; grandson, David Devine; and sister, Jane Barker, he is survived by his loving wife of nearly 72 years, Edith (Calcei); sons, Frank (Renee) and Christopher; daughters, Carolyn Nicholas and Elaine (Ed) Wolfenbarger; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will take place at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91) Akron/Ellet, Ohio 44312 on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Irene B. Turner officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 10 to 11 a.m. Mogadore VFW Post 8487 will provide military honors at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Ronald McDonald House, 245 Locust St., Akron, OH 44302; or the Randolph Fire Department, P.O. Box 190 Randolph, OH 44265.
