Frances E. Wear

Frances Eager Wear passed away May 5, 2013 after a short illness.

She was born in Boonville, Missouri on February 17, 1925. Frances graduated from Boonville High School, the University of Missouri and the University of Akron. She and her late husband George Homer Wear moved to Mogadore in 1956 where they raised their family and where she began a long teaching career at Somers Elementary School. Frances was a member of the First Congregational Church of Tallmadge and their choir for many years. She was an active member of Warm Up America, where she spent many hours knitting and crocheting. Her real passion, however, was quilting. She owned Hazel Dell Farm in Prairie Home, Missouri, which has been in the Wear family for over 150 years.

She is survived by daughters, Tracye Wear (David Brown), Delese Wear (Steve Broderick), and Rachel Wear (Conor Mangat); son, Sam Wear (Daryl Burbank); grandchildren, Ben Broderick (Amy), Meredith Broderick (Geoff Deschenes), Colin Wear, Lukas Wear, Hannah Wear, Oliver Mangat, and Spencer Mangat; great granddaughter, Kate Broderick; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue, Mogadore, Ohio 44260. Private inurnment at the family’s convenience in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mogadore Historical Society, 135 S. Cleveland Avenue, Mogadore, Ohio 44260.
