Eugene E. Petty

SPRINGFIELD TWP. -- Eugene E. Petty, age 65, passed away suddenly on December 21, 2018. Born in Lima, Ohio, he was an Akron area resident most of his life. Gene was a Union mason, working with brick and block for many years, and retired from LMR Construction in 2001. He loved fishing, hunting and gold prospecting. His family was everything to him and his greatest love was spending time with them. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Genevieve; his son, Bobby Gene; and in-laws, Leslie and Rachel Carrington, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Polly; son, Michael (Debbie); grandchildren, Jacob, Hailey, Mason, Audrianna, Gavin, Lilly, Madalyn, Lenox, Gracie, Xavier and Mia; brother, John; sisters, Lorraine, Roberta, Sharon (Darren); nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Friends and family will be received Saturday, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service immediately follow the visitation on Saturday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Richard W. Ferris officiating. Private burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
