Ethel C. Messner (nee Rege)

Ethel C. Messner, age 92, passed away on February 27, 2018. Born in Akron, she was a life resident of the Akron area. Ethel was employed in the accounting department at the M. O’Neil Company for ten years, and was a member of Advent Lutheran Church and Eastern Star. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold C. in 2016, Ethel is survived by daughter, Diane (Mike) Dunphy; grandchildren, Brian (Stephanie) Dunphy, Katie (Ryan) Long and Bill (Jaclyn) Dunphy; and great-grandchildren, Brendan and Ella Dunphy, Jonathan and Michael Long and Evelyn Dunphy. The family would like to extend our deepest appreciation for the outstanding care and compassion given by the staff at St. Luke’s Laurel Valley. Friends and family will be received Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.). Funeral Service will be Monday at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Advent Lutheran Church, 1516 Edison Street NW, Uniontown, Ohio 44685 with Pastor Bob Cheyney Jr. officiating. Private burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
