Emily Michelle Flaker (nee Miller) "Em

Emily Michelle Flaker, 34, went home to be with the Lord on June 27, 2015 after a long illness. 

She was born in Akron and had been employed at Summa as a nursing assistant. Emily loved bingo, popcorn and going to the beach on vacation. She was a loving mother, devoted daughter, and never met anyone she didn’t like. 

Preceded in death by her mother, Cynthia Louise Raines; Grandma and Grandpa Miller; Grandpa Raines; and her uncle, Charles Miller. Survived by her “pride and joy”, her son, Gavin; father, Sonny (Lorrie) Miller; brother, Glen (Michelle) Drew; sister, Jenna Miller; the love of her life, Bob Peter; Grandma Pat Raines; aunt and uncle, Pat and Dan Buchanan; uncle and aunt, Ron and Linda Miller; aunt, Rosie Miller; uncles and aunts, Rick and Debbie Raines, and Don and Robin Raines; best friend, Loretta Bloch; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Emily’s family would like to extend their thanks to the staff at Orchards of Ridgewood for their loving care and concern. 

Family and friends will be received 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Brenda Young officiating. Cremation will follow services. The family suggests memorials to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 6100 Rockside Woods Blvd. #445, Independence, Ohio 44131.
