Elma J. Bowman

Elma J. Bowman, 91, went home to the Lord February 10, 2023 at her home in New Franklin, OH surrounded by loved ones.  Elma was born in Mt. Zion, WV and moved to Ohio when she was six years of age.  Elma spent most of her career caring for people as a nurse.   She enjoyed being involved with her church in McDonough, GA and treasured the memories she made with her Sunday school ladies from their luncheons to their little getaways.  She touched the lives of so many and will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Elma was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Bowman, her brother, Edward Little, her son, Russell Scott, her son-in-law Clint Travis, her grandson, Donnie Schutz and her granddaughter, Sabrina Burr.

Elma is survived and missed by her sister Jo Pennington, and her children, David (Donna) Scott, Linda Travis and Sue (Larry) Roberson.  She will forever be cherished by her grandchildren Tabitha (Mike) Hedrick, Heather (Eddie) Polley, Kristi (Bobby) Scott, David (Dawn) Scott, Michelle (Derek) Gagnon and Stephanie (Ramsey) Jaldin.  Her memory lives on through her great grandchildren Codi (Chandler) Schutz, Collin (Emily) Schutz, Caden Polley, Nicole Balazowich, Loren Balazowich, Kyla Scott, Ethan Scott, Kered Gagnon, Kendal Gagnon and her great-great grandchild Elijah Schutz. 

Calling hours will be held March 18, 2023 from 12 to 2pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home 547 Canton Rd.  Akron, OH 44312 with a service beginning at 2 pm.  Interment will follow at Markillie Cemetery, Hudson, OH.
