Ellis Bourn, age 89, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016.
Born in Akron, Ohio to his parents, Ralph and Hazel Bourn, he graduated from Springfield High School and lived in Uniontown most of his life. Mr. Bourn retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 46 years of service. He was a dedicated member of the Uniontown Lions Club for more than 50 years, and was a co-organizer of the Lions Club bus trips. Bud also coached Uniontown Little League. Some of his favorite activities included traveling, gardening, Lake Sports, and especially Sunday dinners with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Willagene Swartz; brothers, Ralph and Richard Bourn; and great-grandson, Nigel Bourn, he is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Betty Jeanne (Boyer); sons, Perry (Mary Lou), Gary (Wendy) and Chuck (Kathy); grandchildren, Brian, Christopher, Matthew, Zachary (Shelley), Brooke (Jason) Mitchell, Samantha (Nick) English and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Muriel and Bennett Bourn, Lee English and Cole and Blakely Mitchell; brothers, Jack (Bev) Bourn and Gene (Peggy) Bourn; sister, Sandy (Brian) Craiglow; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, from 4 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a brief service at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) Cremation will follow the services with private burial at a later date.
