Elizabeth L. “Betty” Taylor, age 78, passed away on March 14th, 2024.
Born in Akron, she was a resident of Brimfield for 55 years. Betty graduated from Ellet High School in 1963. After high school, Betty worked as a secretary at B.F. Goodrich for 4 years before marrying Harry and starting a family. After 20 years of raising her 3 children she returned to work at K-Mart, Wendy’s and Jaspers restaurant home of her published meatloaf recipe.
In her free time, Betty enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, gardening, camping, and listening to oldies and gospel music. Always the sports enthusiast, she enjoyed her years of league bowling with longtime neighbors Gary and Diane Allen and keeping a baseball scorebook for little league and Cleveland Indians games. In her later years she loved caring for and spending time with her four beloved grandchildren and cooking for her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years Harry; parents, Steve and Albenia; siblings Roseanne, Pat and Steve (Junior). Betty is survived bysons, Tom Taylor and Tim (Amy) Taylor; daughter, Tammy (Joe) Mueller; grandchildren, Megan, Kaitlyn, Mitchell, Courtney.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 22nd from 10am – 12pm at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd, Akron OH 44312 with funeral service immediately following. Burial will take place Saturday March 23rd at 11am at Hillside Cemetery, 1635 Hartville Rd, Mogadore OH 44260.
