Elizabeth M. “Betty” Howiler (nee Fisher)
Elizabeth M. “Betty” Howiler, age 97, passed away on April 4, 2017.
She was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Milton and Sarah Elizabeth Fisher, the youngest of four daughters. She moved to Akron and was a graduate of South High School. Betty married John “Bill” Howiler on January 26, 1941 and they were active members of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church (formerly Main Street Methodist). She retired from B.F. Goodrich in 1975.
Preceded in death by her husband of 52 years; her sisters and her parents, she is survived by her son, Dale (Kathleen); and daughter, Jeanenne (Roger) Wood; grandchildren, Michael (Janet) Wood, Michelle Wood, Jeffrey (Guilianna) Howiler, Mark (Amanda) Wood and step-granddaughter, Tammy Wood; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jacob, Matthew, Nicholas and Alexander and step-great-grandson, Parker.

Friends and family will be received Sunday, from 2 to 5 p.m., and Monday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be Monday, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dale Gharky officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to the Summa Palliative Care Unit, 525 E. Market Street, Akron, OH 44304.
