Eleanor M. Young

Eleanor M. Young, age 79, passed away September 25, 2013, surrounded by her family.

Eleanor was born on October 1 in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., and lived in the Akron area most of her life. She was a member of the Quilting Club at New Horizons Christian Church, and enjoyed knitting and sewing.

Preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Sr.; son, Jerry; daughter, Stacey; great-granddaughter, Laney Gemmell; and son-in-law, Dale Cradlebaugh, Eleanor is survived by son, Melvin Jr. (Dawn); daughters, Karen (Dewitt) Moss, Donna (Greg) Gemmell and Terry (Dave) Brant; daughter-in-law, Janet; grandchildren, Lee, Dewitt, Jamie, Gregory, Jennifer, Sara, Katie, Ryan, Adam and Spencer; and great-grandchildren, Mikah, Kiera, Silas, and Delilah.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312, where funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Julie Thoms officiating. Burial will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
