Eleanor M. “GG” Gilger, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2022.
Born in Akron on August 9, 1939 to the late Steve and Mary (Feher) Barna, she was a resident of Mogadore. She graduated from Ellet High School and retired from Hometown Health. Eleanor was a member of several churches and loved serving the Lord. She was a godly woman, grateful, loving and kind. She had a servant’s heart for God, her family, and others.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Gilger; in-laws, Richard M. and Anna Mae Gilger; brothers, Steve, Robert, and John; and sisters, Mary Ann Griffin and Betty Black. She is survived by her children, Pam (Jim) Perdue, Cindy (Tony) Hartman, Rick Gilger, Julie (Joe) Morgan; grandchildren, Nicole Perdue (Justin), Jimmy (Robin) Perdue, Jason (Heather) Belacic, Ashley (Chris) Singh, Samantha (Jim) Sano, Jamie Seese (Crystal), Christy Gilger, Tyler (Brittany) Morgan, Austin (Bethany) Morgan, Kelsey Morgan; 16 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-laws, Irene (John) Hanigofsky, Bob Griffin, Pauline Barna; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends and family will be received Saturday, August 27th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), OH 44312. Funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. with Pastor Rod Black officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
