Eleanor Fryberger, 91, passed away on August 13, 2012.
Born on November 21, 1920 in Sharon, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mabel (Wakefield) Bisby. Eleanor lived most of her life in Akron, graduating from Ellet High School and Hammel Actual Business College. She was a founding member of the Ellet High School Alumni Association. Eleanor married William Robert “Bob” Fryberger in 1939, and was married for 24 years until his death in 1964. She then worked as a secretary in the Tire Division at B.F. Goodrich for 25 years until her retirement in 1983. Eleanor was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, always putting others first. A wonderful homemaker, she loved spending time with family, and enjoyed camping, cooking and shopping. She will be sorely missed by all.
Also preceded in death by her grandson, Douglas Hunter; sister, Arlene Currey; and brother, Russell Bisby, she is survived by daughters, Lynne Ross of Akron, Lois (Tony) Conti of Fort Wayne, Ind.; grandchildren, Joan (Mike) Cottrill, Brian (Denise) Frangos, and Mercedes Hunter, all of Akron, and Jennifer Conti of Muncie, Ind.; ten great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call Thursday at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44312 from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Burial immediately following at Hillside Memorial Park.
