Edwin G. McManus, (83), passed away February 1, 2024.

Edwin, fondly known to many as Whitey, was born on May 6, 1940 and adopted by Earvus and Catherine McManus, in Ellet, Ohio. Ed was a much loved father, grandfather, and friend. He was a talented golfer and known for his incredible work ethic and his ability to fix big machines. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his family, travel, hiking, attending services as Maranatha Bible Church, and going to football games with his friends. He moved many times, and while he spent years of his life in Houston, TX, he always called Ohio home.

Edwin is survived by his two sons, Richard (Dolly) McManus, and Douglas (Jennifer) McManus, and his former wife, Glenda McManus; his grandchildren, Tiffany (Waylon) Knight, Paige Moss, Brandon McManus, Abigail (Joshua) Humphrey, Adriene and Mia McManus; and two great-grandchildren, Breelynn and Gage Knight. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Earvus and Catherine McManus, and his sister, Sandra.

Family and friends will be received on Friday, February 9, 2024 at Maranatha Bible Church in Akron. Visitation will be held from 10 am to 11 am, with service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Cripple Creek Ferals and Friends of Hartville.
