Edna M. (Hurst) Barnes

Edna M. Barnes, 101, passed away peacefully November 2, 2013.

She was born in Mercer, PA, was raised and resided in Ellet before moving to Uniontown in 1974. Edna retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 35 years of service. She then opened Wayside Antiques which she ran for another 35 years and manufactured the Barnes Reamer.

Preceded in death by brother, Clyde Hurst during WWII; two other brothers; one sister; and son, James R. Barnes in 1999. She is survived by daughter, Eleanor (Ray) Pry; son, Robert (Deanna) Barnes; eight grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren sisters, Middy (Ralph) Robinson, Lillian Kastle; brother, Glenn (Marge) Dobbins; and special cousin, Stella Fassnacht.

Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Pastor Jonthan Carey officiating. Burial to follow at Hillside Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-7 p.m. Thursday.
