Edna R. Held

Edna R. Held, 88 years, went home to be with the Lord October 8, 2012.

Born in Akron, Edna retired from Monarch Rubber. She was a member of Springfield Fellowship Church and the Mogadore Boat Club, where she spent many hours entertaining the other members with songs and stories.

Preceded in death by her son, George Burrell; infant daughter, Susette Held; and sister, Elva Mae Ryan. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Harold "Bud"; sons, Howard and Buddy (Drema) Held; daughters, Denise Coontz and Susan (Craig) Duncan; grandchildren, Emmalee Coontz, Melissa (Matt) Aguirre, Eric (Amy) Held and Avril Burrell; she was "GG" to Caleb and Sarah; Abby, Tyler, and Colton.

Funeral service Friday, 11 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312, with Rev. O. Homer Burket officiating.  Burial at Hillside Memorial Park.  Friends may call Thursday, from 5 to 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Friday, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Springfield Fellowship Church, 830 Ewart Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312.
