Earl Sayre, Jr., age 72, passed away July 11, 2015.
Born in Akron, Earl lived in the Akron area for many years before moving to Carrollton. He served in the U.S. Navy, was employed with Babcock and Wilcox and the Lakemore/Springfield Township Police Departments.
Preceded in death by his wife, LaDonna; daughter, Belinda; parents, Eupha and Earl Sayre, Sr.; he is survived by his brothers, Kenneth of Alabama and Gene (Rosemary) of Akron; sisters, Earlene Cave of Akron and Gloria Ertel of Indiana; many nieces and nephews. Earl also leaves his two best buddies, Max and Trooper.
Funeral service Friday, 1 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312, with Pastor Dave Cross officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park where military rites will be conducted by Mogadore VFW Post 8487. Family and friends will be received prior to the service on Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The family suggests memorials to the Stark County Humane Society, 5100 Peach Street N.E., Louisville, Ohio 44641.
