Dwayne R. Francis

Dwayne R. Francis, age 89, died on December 22, 2015. 

Born in Akron, he lived most of his life in Mogadore after graduating from South High School and serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Francis retired from the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 55 years of service. He was a member of Victory Masonic Lodge #649 F&AM and was a devoted longtime member of the Mogadore United Methodist Church. Dwayne was very loving to his family and supported everything that they did. 

He was preceded in death by many family members, including granddaughters, Beth and Traci Skye, and is survived by his wife of 68 years, Gladys; son, Gary (Julie); daughters, Lynn Straight and Barbara (Ronny) Skye; grandchildren, Doug (Michele) Straight, Danny (Jessie) Straight, Lisa (Tony) Seibel, Leslie (Keane) Crockett, Joe (Meredith) Skye, Annie (Steve) Westfall, Amy (Adam) Farley, Andrew (Tasha) Francis and Allison Francis; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family members. 

Friends and family will be received Sunday, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron/Ellet, Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be held Monday, 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Pamela Gable officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore.
