Dreama L. Spiker, age 92 of Akron passed into eternal rest peacefully at home with family by her side May 31, 2016.
She was born in Millboro, Va. to parents George and Carmie Loan. Dreama was an avid child advocate working for the Children’s Home for 25 years. She was a mentor to many local children remembered as “Mom Robinson” and “Mrs. Spiker”. Her loving guidance spread well beyond her immediate family. Dreama was a longtime member of Akron Free Will Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Leslie Robinson; parents, George and Carmie Loan; sisters, Alice Myers, Della Shoulders, Silvia Simms and Viola Criddle; brothers, Jack, Fred, Charles and George Loan; son, Darrell Robinson; grandson, Douglas Young; mother-in-law, Ethel Spiker; and sister-in-law, Virginia Barnes. Dreama is survived by her loving husband, Cliff Spiker; children, Judy James (Mark) and Joan Young (Ray); grandchildren, Patti Stubbs (John) and Chris Merriman; great-grandchildren, Nick Merriman (Teri), Ashley Merriman, Joe Stubbs (Stephanie), Keith Stubbs, Megan Young and Taylor Young; sisters, Georgie Brackin, Dolly Oscar (Ira) and Jewell Oscar; sister-in-law, Ruth Toomey; as well as dear friends, Eleanor Decker and Karen Solonsky. The family would like to thank the Summa Hospice and Home Health Service with special thanks to Debbie McClasky, Joyce Kelsey, Mallory Robinson and Jodi Fortunato.
Friends and family will be received Friday, June 3, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 4 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will immediately follow Saturday at 12 noon with Rev. Kenneth L. Frisbee officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
