Doug Weyrick, age 50, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2021, after a long battle with brain cancer.
Born in Akron, Ohio, he lived in the Akron area most of his life. Doug graduated from Springfield High School in 1989 and served in the Navy from 1989 through 1991. He was a member of Sigma Pi Fraternity and loved watching the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Football, and playing golf. Doug enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Weyrick, and father-in-law, Ron Ludwig.
Doug is survived by his wife of 18 years, Anna Weyrick; sons, Jacob (17) and Alex (16); godson, Caelan Walker Randle; mother, Vicky Weyrick, mother-in-law, Janice Ludwig; brother, Drew (Lisa) Weyrick; sister, Danielle Weyrick; sister-in-law Alison (Curt) Harvey; nieces and nephews, Trevor (Lindsey) Weyrick, Jessica (Matt) Hendrix, Marissa and Ryan Harvey; along with other nieces. He is loved and missed by countless friends as well.
Friends and Family will be received on May 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91) Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Due to COVID, masks and social distancing guidelines will be followed. A funeral service will be held following visitation at 7 p.m. with Christopher Rhodes officiating.
