Dorothy S. White, age 85, passed away on January 6, 2017.
Born in Masontown, Pa., she lived in the Akron area most of her life. Dorothy was employed with Akron General Medical Center as a Medical Transcriptionist for 25 years, and was a former member of the Ellet Women’s Club. She loved baseball, especially the Cleveland Indians, and spending time with her very special cats, Oliver and Sabrina.
Preceded in death by her daughter, Vicki Lu Clawson; parents, Clara L. and Edwin M. Snyder; brothers, William L., Clyde E. and Glenn A. Snyder; grandson, Ryan Labbe; son-in-law, Glen Loucks; and grandson-in-law, Rick Loychik, she is survived by daughters, Debra Loucks and Gail (Mark) Noland; grandchildren, Traci Loychik, David A. Noland II (Chrissy) and Jessica A. (Marc) Jarvis; and great-grandchildren, Ryan Schrader and Nicholas Loychick, Maddison, Dakota and Skylar Noland, David Noland III, Alivia and Dino Jarvis, Mitchell and Shayna Blair.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Per Dorothy’s wishes, there will not be a funeral service. Private burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4682 Douglas Cir NW, Canton, OH 44718.
