Dorothy I. Serva

Dorothy I. Serva, age 99, passed away January 5, 2022. 

She was born in Randolph, August 16, 1922, to the late Paul and Marie Elmerick. She graduated from Suffield High School and lived most of her adult life in Mogadore. Dorothy was an active member of St. Matthew Parish, the Council of Catholic Women, and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and card playing. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Serva; brothers, Kenneth, Donald, and Raymond; and sister, Mildred. She is survived by her children, Father Donald Serva, SJ, Richard Serva, and Jeanne (Tom) Decker; grandson, Seth Serva; sisters, Rita Lansinger, Mary Moyseenko, Margaret Sviatko; as well as many nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to St. Matthew Parish, 2603 Benton Ave. Akron, OH 44312. 

Friends and family will be received Tuesday, January 11th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 12th at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Parish, 2603 Benton Ave. Akron, OH 44312, with Father Donald Serva, SJ and Father Michael Williamson presiding. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery
