Dorothy Jean Pope

Dorothy Jean Pope, age 92, passed away on April 20, 2024. Born in Akron, Ohio, she resided in Uniontown. Dorothy graduated from East High. Dorothy was a member of New Apostolic Church and later The Chapel in Green. She was a phenomenal cake decorator and seamstress. She excelled at decorating, cooking, gardening, flower arranging, she could do it all! But most importantly, she loved God and her family, and she showed it by playing the organ, teaching Sunday School, and making altar arrangements.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Pope; young children, Jackie Pope, Barbara Jean Pope, twin girls; son Eric Pope; her parents, Margaret and Eugene Kozlowski; and sister, Mary Phillips. She is survived by her children, John David, Carolyn (John), and Mark (Dolores); grandchildren, John, Jeremy, Andrew, Amy, Micaela, Lydia, and Talia; great grandchildren, Emme, Emily, Amelia, Caroline, and Julia; brothers, Don (Maralyn) and Paul (Lois) Kozlowski.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home (547 Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44312) from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. with a service immediately following. The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice on Ridgewood Rd (3358 Ridgewood Rd, Fairlawn, OH 44333).
