Dorothy Mae Matwiju

Dorothy Mae Matwiju was born December 1st, 1920 in Akron, Ohio to Thora and Theodore Adkins. She had two brothers, Kenneth and Lloyd, and four sisters, Thelma, Betty, Helen, and Ruth. She and husband, Stephen Matwiju II had three beautiful children, Dorothy, Stephen, and David. She spent many happy years working at the Summit County Title Bureau before retiring in 1982. She was strong and independent until the very end. Thursday morning, with her grandson Dave by her side, she went to be with her beloved Dottie and David, husband, and siblings who preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Stephen; sister, Ruth and her family; grandsons, Dave (Beth) Rowles II, David Lee Matwiju, and Cory Matwiju; nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends Monday, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Graveside services and burial will then follow Monday, 11 a.m. at Hillside Memorial Park, 1025 Canton Road, Akron, OH 44312.
