Dorothy A. Keathley, age 86, died peacefully July 12, 2021.
Born and raised in Akron, she graduated from East High School. She met a boy from Ellet and started a family. Dorothy worked for Summit County for 20 years and was an active and loyal member of St. Matthew Parish. She enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends, cheering for the Cleveland Indians, and watching her family grow…and grow. The most active minds are said to be curious. Dorothy would have been considered the most curious person you’ve ever met. She lived as an inspiration and role model to her children and grandchildren. She never lost her love of travel; visiting all 50 states, traveling to China to pick up her 16th grandchild, and exploring the holy land at age 85.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Clara Longstreth, and siblings, Helen Baer, and Jim, Jack, Ralph, and Fred Longstreth. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Floyd Keathley Jr.; sons, Richard and Thomas Keathley; daughters, Sharon (Mike) Jackson, Laura Flowers, Cynthia (Bill) Holderbaum, and Karen (Tony) Manna; 18 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bud and Bob Longstreth; and sisters, Marian Kerne, Maria Langford, and Edna Glinsky.
