Dorothy Dawn (Kasten) Krager, 94, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2022. She was born on November 11, 1928 in Akron, OH. She graduated from East High School and from L.I.F.E. Bible College as valedictorian in Los Angeles, CA. In her early years, she lived in Minnesota and worked as a secretary for Jeno Paulucci, founder of Chun King. She retired as a secretary from Terex Division of General Motors in Hudson, OH. 1984.
Faith in God was the center of Dorothy’s life. She was a member of The Chapel in Akron. She enjoyed reading the daily paper, her weekly visits to the beauty shop, golfing, bowling, and boating on the Portage Lakes with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sunny days sitting on her porch swing and short road trips to Amish country. Her nieces and nephew always had a special place in her heart. She appreciated her time with her care giver, Teresa Strong, who's compassionate Christian care enriched her last few months.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Frederick George Krager, her parents (George and Alma Kasten), sister Esther (Kasten) Hicks, brother-in-law Denton Hicks, and brothers William and Robert Kasten.
She is survived by daughters Brenda (Mark) Reppa, Karen (Dan) Nicolino, son Alan Krager, grandchildren Jennifer (John) Griffith, Danny (Alyssa) Nicolino and Matthew Reppa and great-granddaughter, Bella Ann Griffith.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. with service at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 22nd, 2022, at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery. Masks are recommended due to recent health concerns. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Haven of Rest, 175 E. Market St. Akron, OH. 44308.
