Dorothy J. Ellis, age 68, went home to be with the Lord on April 28, 2015.
Born in Akron, she lived in the area all of her life and graduated from East High School. Dorothy was employed by Summa Akron City Hospital, and was a member of Cornerstone Free Methodist Church. She was also a Native American Hobbyist and member of Tecumseh Lodge. In her spare time, Dorothy enjoyed knitting, and loved baking with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Robert; son, Thomas; daughter, Mindy (Tom); five grandchildren; brother, Robert West; and sister, Barbara Weber.
The family will receive friends Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312. Memorial service will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at Cornerstone Free Methodist Church, 578 Killian Road, Akron, OH 44319 with Pastor Brenda Young officiating. The family suggests memorials to the church.
