Donna M. Thompson

Donna Thompson, age 89, was called home to be with her Lord on July 27, 2022 surrounded by family and loved ones.

Donna was born May 15, 1933, in Akron, Ohio to the late Harry and Rose Smith. She was a graduate of Springfield High School and Actual Business College. She was employed as a secretary by American Hard Rubber Company. In 1957, she married her husband of 62 years, Russell Thompson. She then became a stay at home mother.

Donna was a religious person, enjoying church and bible studies. She loved singing, reading, and playing games, especially Scrabble. She was very active in her children’s lives. Donna’s love of family was clear, she adorned her home with many family photos of her children and grandchildren, whom she dearly loved. Donna will be remembered as the heart and soul of the family. She will be missed by family and friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers, Harry Jr. and William Smith. She is survived by her brother, Greg Smith; her children, David Thompson, Carol (late Richard) Tolson, and John (Karla) Thompson; and grandchildren, Logan Tolson, Amy Thompson, and Angela Thompson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 3^rd at 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron (Ellet), OH 44312 with Pastor John Hayward officiating. Interment will take place at Hillside Memorial Park.
