Donna J. Moore

Donna J. Moore, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on June 24, 2014.

Born in Akron on February 25, 1926 to the late Martin and Elizabeth Dukmayre, Donna graduated from East High School in 1943. After college, Donna worked at Goodyear for a short time. She played the violin in the Goodrich All-Girls Orchestra and the Bob Cole Orchestra. Donna was married to her husband, Sam for 50 years prior to his death in 2001. They were co-owners of the Eastwood (Aid) Drug stores in Uniontown, Mogadore and Hartville, where they worked together in the pharmacy. They also enjoyed traveling together in their motorhome to visit friends. Donna volunteered at Akron Children’s Hospital, and in her spare time she enjoyed doing craft projects, gardening, going out to eat with friends, and spending time with her grandkids.

Preceded in death by her husband, Sam; she is survived by sons, Ken (Nancy) and David; grandchildren, Zach and Kenny (Lindsey); and best guy, Elton Coleman. Donna’s family extends special thanks to all the staff at The Inn at Whitewood Village and Crossroads Hospice.

Memorial service will be Saturday, 3 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.), with Pastor Sam Martin officiating. Friends will be received prior to the service Saturday, from 1 to 3 p.m. The family suggests memorials to Akron Children’s Hospital, One Perkins Square, Akron, OH 44308.
