Donna Dotson Baldt went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 1, 2013 after a four year battle with inflammatory breast cancer.
She was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio and retired from Roadway Express after 26 years of service. She was a Deaconess of the First Evangelical Congregational Church and a member of First E.C. Church in Akron where she served as a Prayer Leader and initiated and led the Women’s Ministry as well as served on the Official Board. Donna was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed. Donna was a devoted wife, mother, sister and daughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cheryl and William Dotson; sister, Denise Alison Dotson; and grandparents, Henrietta and William Dotson and Martha and Gross Stover. She is survived by husband, Thomas Baldt; brothers, William (Cindy) Dotson, Jim (Beth) Dotson and John (Gina) Dotson; sisters, Diane (Dick) Thatcher, Dorothy (Mike) Moser; sister-in-law, Marilyn Harville, Donna (Bob) Lapp; step children, Dawn (Chip) Seymour, Melissa (Andy) Leach, Jennifer (Shanon) Hyde; grandchildren, Katie Seymour, Morgan Leach, Jonah Combs, Jordan Combs, Josie Hyde and Riley Hyde; aunts, Gloria (George) Strong, Beverly Vollman; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, Ohio 44312. Funeral service Friday, 11 a.m., at the First Evangelical Congregational Church, 369 E. Woodsdale Ave., Akron, Ohio 44301, with Rev. Scott Carr officiating. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First E.C. Church.
