Donald R. Turner

Donald Turner, 89, passed away on March 15, 2024.

Born in Dawes, West Virginia, he was a resident of Akron. Don served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957 and retired from Consolidated Freightways after 17 years. He enjoyed golfing, astronomy, Cleveland sports, going for walks, the beach, and spending time with his family.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Lois (Knight), and siblings, Bill and Anna. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara; sons, Tim and Gary; daughter, Carolyn; grandchildren, Megan, Nellie, and Lauren; great grandchildren, Jaylen and Josiah; brother, Harry; and sister, Sue.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday, March 20th  from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44312. Memorial service will be held Thursday, March 21st at 11 a.m. Donations can be made to the American Stroke Foundation (americanstroke.org) or to your favorite charity.
