Donald E. Roberts

Donald E. Roberts of Norton, Ohio was taken home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. He is survived by his loved and loving wife of 69 years, Sherry Jeanette (Moon) Roberts. Donald was born on September 20, 1931 in Akron, Ohio and worked in the Akron area all of his life, retiring from Wadsworth Sash and Door Company. To all who knew him, Donald was above all a godly man who lived to serve his Lord as a faithful husband, father, grandfather, and as a faithful servant in Youngs Corners Fellowship Baptist Church in Wadsworth. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Roberts of Greenville, S.C., and is survived by his wife, Sherry Jeanette Roberts; sons, Michael (Patricia) Roberts of Norton, Gregory (Sheryl) Roberts of Hartville, David (Lisa) Roberts of Canal Fulton; daughters, Sheridan (Russ) Ayers of Bowling Green, Ky., Shannon (Randall) Miller of Brimfield; Allison (Stephen) Moore of Norton; precious daughter-in-law, Cara Roberts of Greenville, S.C.; 27 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and brother, Marvin (Mary Ann) Roberts of Akron. “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” – 2 Corinthians 5:21 Family and friends will be received Sunday, from 2 to 6 p.m., and Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Wright of Youngs Corners Fellowship Baptist Church officiating along with Donald’s son, Gregory Roberts.
