Donald W. Eberwine, age 70, went home to be with the Lord after a long illness on March 21, 2018 while surrounded by his family.
Born in Akron, he was a graduate of Garfield High School and lived most of his life in Uniontown. Don served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne Division. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber and spent his retirement years as a school bus driver for Lake Local and Lake Center Christian Schools. Don’s community activities included volunteering with the Uniontown Fire Department, coaching his daughters’ sports teams, Lake High School Athletic Booster Club, and Uniontown Community Council where he helped to organize the Uniontown Parade.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Edna (Laube) Eberwine; sister, Beverly; aunt, Jane Ostergard; and grandbaby, Jesse, Don is survived by his wife of 42 years, Theresa; daughters, Brandy (Mark) Moorhead and Brooke (John) Barickman; grandchildren, Emma, Ryan, Joseph, John, Luke, Andrew, and one on the way; brothers, James (Joy) and Robert (Terri); and sisters, Joyce and Cindy.
Friends and family will be received Friday, March 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, UNIONTOWN, Ohio 44685 (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Ave.) Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 24 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Road, Uniontown, OH 44685, with Father David Durkee presiding. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
