Donald Russell “Don” Kenepp, age 87, passed away on February 17, 2015.
Born in Akron on January 17, 1928, he lived in Akron all of his life, graduating from East High School. Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Naval Reserve, and was a member of the American Legion. He was employed with the Brown Graves Lumber Company for 42-1/2 years, retiring in 1990. Don’s hobbies included history, collecting and selling military artifacts, building and carpentry. He enjoyed spending time with his cats and his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Fred E. and Mary Kenepp; brothers, Fred E., John R., Harry E., George E., James A. and William F. Kenepp; he is survived by sons, Thomas R. and Edward S. (Terry) Kenepp; daughter, Debbie Snyder; grandchildren, Timothy Kenepp (Jessica Replogle), Marie (David) Music and Amanda Kenepp; sister-in-law, Ruby Kenepp; and former wives, Susan (Perkins) Williamson and Shirley (Lantz) Kenepp.
The family will receive friends Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron, Ohio 44312, where funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Evangelist Scott M. Hussing officiating. Burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Monday at 9:30 a.m.
