Donald L. Corley, 96, passed away on February 14, 2025. Born September 27, 1928 in Junior, W. Va, Dad worked in the coal mines before moving to Akron in 1957. He took employment at Diamond Foundry as a molder and later became the Shop Foreman and retired in 1992.
Preceded in death by parents Russell Corley and Rachel Wagner; brothers Ken, Adrian, Bill, Dude, baby boy Gary; sister Phyllis; loved son Charley; two grandchildren Bobby and Christina Corley.
He will be missed by wife of 76 years Virginia; son Robert (Donna); grandchildren Daniel (Tiffani) and Angelina (Tobie); siblings Shirley Baldwin and Homer Jewell Corley. Also missing him will be Angela (Pete), Ashley (Joe), and Alyse (Scott) and eight grandchildren; as well as nephews and nieces.
Don attended Oak Hill Presbyterian Church and was baptized by Pastor Brian Nutt. He so enjoyed bicycling, walking, and gardening. He was known for his small but abundant garden. He self-taught himself carpenter skills on construction projects, including electrical and plumbing. He won many Beautification awards for the city of Akron.
