Donald Burton

Donald Burton Sr. of Cuyahoga Falls, age 82, passed away on August 17, 2015. 

Don was born in Bloomington, Indiana and graduated from Ellet High School. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and golf buddies. Don served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, retired from Goodyear and was a member of the Bailey Road Christian Church. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Wayne Burton Jr.; brothers, John and David; and sister, Wilma McFadden. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Hazel; brother, Jerry; daughters, Denise (Tom Still) and Kathy (Fred Jones); daughter-in-law, Robin; grandchildren, Jason, Jerime, Donny, Danielle, Karlie and Cheyanne; and three great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the caring staff of hospice for their excellent care and support. 

Family and friends will be received Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at Bailey Road Christian Church, 3200 W. Bailey Road, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, with Pastor Timothy Brown officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday. Burial with military honors will follow at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Great Lakes Caring Hospice, 1530 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44313.
