Dolores Gerry Riedinger

Dolores Gerry Riedinger, age 79, passed away March 19, 2014.

Born in Akron, Ohio, she was a life resident of the area. Dolores graduated from Kent State University (KSU) with a Bachelor Degree in Education in 1958, a Master Degree in 1962, and a Library of Science Certificate in 1973. She was a school teacher and librarian for almost 30 years in the Akron Public School system, retiring in 1992. Dolores was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she taught CCD classes for multiple years and volunteered for various committees and events. Her leisure activities included spending time with her grandchildren, reading, researching family genealogy, making beaded necklaces, playing euchre, and having lunch and going on shopping excursions with family and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Gerry; husband of 50 years, Jim Riedinger; grandson, Nathan Miller; siblings, Doris Gerry, William (Helen) and Robert Gerry; and sister-in-law, Irene (Russell) Carlson. Dolores is survived by her daughters, Amy (Fred) Miller of Uniontown and Laura (Jeffrey) Sol of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Alyssa and Ethan Miller and Alice Sol; and siblings, John, Jim (Margie), and Charles Gerry, Margie Lee, and Lois (Don) Maust; and numerous wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue (Route 532) MOGADORE, Ohio 44260, from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2643 Waterloo Road, Mogadore, Ohio 44260, with Father Thomas Acker, S.J. presiding. Procession will form at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic School, 2617 Waterloo Road, Mogadore, OH 44260; or the Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) Association, P.O.
