Dolores G. “Dee” Adams, 86 years of age, went home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2015.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, she lived in Mogadore for most of her life. Dee graduated from East High School in 1946. She worked at Weaver School and Workshop as an aide, using her skills with American Sign Language. Over the span of her lifetime, Dee was a member of St. Matthew and then Our Lady of Victory parishes.
Preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Nellie George, and her sister Dorothy Heckaman; survived by husband, William Adams of 65 years; sons, Michael (Ingrid), Pat (Karen), Dennis (Tanya), and Chris (Joyce); grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joshua, Ben, Matt, Kristy, Kelsey, Lesley, Lauren, Andrew, Brodie, Brandon, Corey and Cameron; seven great-grandchildren. With more on the way!
Beyond her family, life-long friendships were forged from her neighbors, Mogadore Garden Club, the Little Guild, and Bridge Club. Everyone who crossed the threshold of her home was warmly received. Dee was fiercely loyal in friendship and love. She was full of life and plans, activity and movement. She loved to read and limited the time the TV was on. Travel was a particularly cherished treat for her. Dee held strong opinions, but always tempered them with love and discretion. She sank deep roots in her beliefs and this allowed her to stand firm in the face of change. She was a source of strength even when she faced daunting limitations.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 34 S. Cleveland Avenue (Route 532), MOGADORE, Ohio 44260. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 73 North Ave., Tallmadge, Ohio 44278 with Father Michael A. Matusz presiding. Procession will form at the church. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Mogadore.
