Diane J. Garn

Diane J. Garn, age 77, went to meet the Lord in Heaven on March 11, 2022 after she showed amazing strength in a long battle with cancer. 

She was born in Akron on February 21, 1945 to the late Wayne and Margaret Gibson. She lived in Hartville for over 20 years, raising her family, and later moved to the Akron area. Diane graduated from Ellet High School and was a longtime member of The Chapel in Akron. She held various secretarial positions but ultimately lived out her dream of being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her loved ones, going to the casino, and taking rides on the motorcycle with Denny. 

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, William Garn; son, Greg Garn; and brothers, Neil and Duane Gibson. She is survived by her partner in life, Dennis Graves; son, Chad Garn; daughter, Sha (Jeff) Lauro; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews that filled her heart with love. 

Friends and family will be received Sunday, March 20th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hopkins Lawver UNIONTOWN Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Avenue), Uniontown, Ohio 44685. A funeral service will be held Monday, March 21st at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Park in Akron.
