Delores Hugi, 86, of Stow, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2019 with her family by her side, and is together forever with her loving husband of 67 years, Charles Hugi.
Delores was employed at J. B. Robinson Jewelers as a bookkeeper and jewelry specialist for over 20 years, retiring in 1996. She loved helping “her” customers find the perfect item, and building relationships with them by “doing right” by them each and every time.
A loving wife and mother, she enjoyed embroidery, and had a deep appreciation for nature, including flower gardening and trail walks all over Summit County. She also treasured trips with her husband to Amish country, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Walt Disney World. She had a heart for animals of every kind, especially cats ButterB and Tiger, and believed that pets are family members for life. She was also known to substitute ice cream for any food group. She found solace in singing and listening to the old church hymns. In practice, she loved justice, kindness, and walked humbly with her God (Micah 6:8).
She is survived by sons Gary and Bryan (Sharon) and daughters Sherry and Daun. Her husband, Charles, parents, Henry and Helen McCulty, and siblings, Donald McCulty and Delma Mahoney, preceded her in death. She will be sadly missed by friends and family.
The family would like to thank Mulberry Gardens Assisted Living and Harbor Light Hospice for their loving care.
Friends and family will be received Friday, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road (Route 91), Akron (Ellet), Ohio 44312. Funeral service will immediately follow visitation, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Cyndie Rogers officiating. Burial Monday, 10:45 a.m., at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville.
