Delmer Lee Liston died August 13, 2016.
A devoted son, loving brother, and loyal friend; Delmer was born in West Union, West Virginia on May 9, 1938. He was a graduate of Green High School class of 1956 and attended the University of Akron. While there he became a TKE and his fraternity brothers became his life-long friends. Del owned the Annadale Lounge near the University and later retried from McKesson. A world traveler, he visited China, Australia, Europe, Central America, Canada, and Alaska among many other places. Delmer enjoyed fishing, cards, discussing politics, the Indians, and Brown. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed history and biographies. A resident of Copley Place when he passed, he previously resided on McKinley Ave. in Akron.
Preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Eugene; he is survived by his only sibling, David (Kathleen); and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW, (one block NW of the square of 619 and Cleveland Ave.), Uniontown, Ohio 44685. A memorial service will immediately follow Wednesday, at 8 p.m., with Paul Beal officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
