David Allan Crosland

David Allan Crosland, 32, of Akron, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 23, at his home. 

He was born September 2, 1982 in Orrville, Ohio, a son of Kathy Freetage and the late Michael Crosland. On July 3, 2004 at the Spraggs United Methodist Church in Spraggs, Pa he married Christiana Lynn Moore, who survives. Also surviving are their two sons, Brandon Tyler Crosland and Aaron Matthew Crosland, at home; his mother Kathy Freetage (and companion Tracy Stertzbach) of Akron, his brother Michael Crosland and his maternal grandmother Iva “Gerrie” Adams of Barberton, Ohio. Also are many Aunts and half Brother and Sister. Deceased is his Maternal Grandfather Archie Adams whom he enjoyed spending time with as a child. 

David graduated in 2002 from Doddridge High School in West Union, West Virginia. After holding various jobs as a Security Guard he returned to school and graduated from Westmoreland Community College with a CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) degree. He had worked at Southwest Regional Medical Center and most recently at the Golden Living Center in Waynesburg. David was a “people person” and had a deep sense of compassion which he carried into his work environment. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, music and playing guitar (when no one was around), some drawing and woodworking. David also loved Coaching for the Central Greene Little Raiders football with his sons involved he thrived. 

The family will gather on Friday, July 3 at the Spraggs United Methodist Church for a dinner at 3 p.m. A memorial service will follow in the Sanctuary at 4 p.m. officiated by Rev. Kathy K. Higgins with Visitation to follow until 7 p.m. His final resting place will be at the Cabin Run Cemetery in West Union, West Virginia.
