David A. LeBarre, age 64, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2014.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. David was very proud of his military service, and was named “Sailor of the Year” twice. He was a master machinist and worked many years at Manchester Tool and Karder Machine. He also worked at EB Wire for seven years, where he began his love of wood carving. Dave carved handmade walking sticks and canes, and did various art shows in the Akron area.
He will be met in Heaven by his father, Harold LeBarre; and his sister, Bobbie Holdt. He leaves behind his mother, Dorothy; and brother, Denny, both of Akron; brother, Scot of Ft. Myers, Fla.; brother-in-law, Mike Holdt; son, Chad (Gail); daughters, Britt and Michaela (Bryan); special grandchildren, Alyssa, Bryce, Clayton, Chance and Brodhi; special nephews, Troy Romo of Akron and Ryan, Jeremy and Dusty of Ft. Myers, Fla. He also leaves his special friend and angel, Pamela Bartholomew; and her brother, Ron. He will be dearly missed, and loved by all of us!
Ride like the wind to be free again. As Dave had wished, cremation has taken place. Interment with military honors will take place Friday, 10:30 a.m. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
