Darlene Harford, passed away on April 29th, 2024 after a lengthy battle with Dementia. Darlene (or Aunt Dee, as most knew her), was born April 28, 1939 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania to Katherine and Charles Harford. Survived by sisters Nancy McClarren (and family) and Shirley Martin (and family), Niece Deborah Hancock and Nephew Robert (Janine and their family) Livingston, Great Niece Jennifer Lehaney (Jeff Worobel and Lola) and Nicole Mowery.
Dee retired from KMart after 35 years. During her time at KMart she also took on putting 2 of her great nieces through dance school. She not only helped out around the studio, but became one of the most beloved supporters of those who knew her. Judy Bourn Dance Studio (now Bourn Academy of Dance), thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Dee was unapologetically herself, tough as nails, and made a lasting impact on those around her.
Even in her last days, the wonderful Absolute Hospice and Staff at Altercare of Hartville told us they called her Mama Dee because she didn’t let them get away with anything, but was also such a loving person. Aunt Dee has left a legacy behind of love, laughter, and sparkles and will be forever missed in our hearts.
Family and friends will be received Friday, May 10th from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hopkins Lawver UNIONTOWN Funeral Home, 3553 Northdale Street NW (one block NW of the square of 619 & Cleveland Avenue), Uniontown, Ohio 44685. A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m.
