Dale E. Valk

On Thursday, October 6, 2022, Dale E. Valk, 77, passed away peacefully. Dale was born May 4, 1945 to Dale F. Valk and Ruby Edwards Valk. He was born intellectually disabled, and his loving mother faithfully took care of him until she was physically unable to continue doing so. He then transferred to Mount Vernon Developmental Center in Knox County, Ohio.

By faith, we believe that Dale is now completely whole and is reunited in Heaven with his parents, his sister, Penelope “Penny” Valk Halliwill, and his brother-in-law, Gary Halliwill, all of whom preceded him in death.

He is survived by his nephews, Dale L. Halliwill (Tania), Scott W. Halliwill (Kathy), and Mark E. Halliwill (Kimberly). Great-nieces & great-nephew, Ashley Halliwill Mayle (Todd), Preslie Halliwill, Tristen Halliwill, and Paige Halliwill, great-great-niece, Ava Mayle, and great-great nephew, Ethan Mayle.

Private viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44312.  Entombment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
